In my previous posting, I mentioned that I was holding onto my Bank of America shares. I had sold off the shares on Tuesday for a profit of 18%. My holding period for this trade is only 3 months. Growing your wealth at 18% for a period of only 3 months is pretty impressive!

Buy and Hold strategy no longer Effective:

As an investor, it is important to know when to invest aggressively and know when to hold cash. If you feel that stock market is at its peak, investors should hold near to 100% cash in his porfolio. This will prevent the investor from suffering unnecessary losses when the stock market is coming down.

By holding onto cash during major peak, this allows the investor to have sufficient cash to invest again when stock market is down.
